A graduate of The Juilliard School's Drama Division, Gavi brings a unique blend of artistic training from New York City combined West Coast spirit to her craft. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area and going to elementary school on a farm, Gavi's childhood was filled with creative exploration, fostered by an upbringing that embraced imagination and the power of storytelling. 

 

Gavi's intellectual curiosity extends beyond the stage. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Barnard College, Columbia University with a degree in English Literature. While she loves a good book, she believes strongly in creating understanding through her body. As Kristin Linklater said, “when words are seen, tasted, touched, felt, they penetrate and break up patterns of thought. They reach into emotions, memories, associations, and they spark the imagination. They bring life.”

Rooted in a rich Jewish and Irish heritage, Gavi brings a unique perspective and nuanced understanding to her work. She believes wholeheartedly in the ability of storytelling to connect us, challenge us, and ultimately, reflect the beautiful complexities of the human experience.

 

Gavi is an accomplished jazz, modern, and ballet dancer who sometimes throws a bit of tap into the mix.
