ABOUT GABRIELLA

Gabriella Goldstein (Gavi) grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and is a graduate of The Juilliard School's Drama Division.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Barnard College, Columbia University with a degree in English Literature. Ask her about her favorite poem, Meditations at Lagunitas by Robert Hass. Language is a powerful tool. Kristin Linklater said, “when words are seen, tasted, touched, felt, they penetrate and break up patterns of thought. They reach into emotions, memories, associations, and they spark the imagination. They bring life.”

Gavi had a hippy-dippy Bay Area upbringing which included going to elementary school on a farm. As a result, community building and education through the arts is near and dear to Gavi's heart. She was a volunteer at Planned Parenthood for years.

She studies jazz and modern dance at Zohar Dance Company and Voice with Hilary Maiberger.

Gavi is so thankful that she gets to live with Watson, her fluffy rescue dog.

Having spent the last few months working on Paula Vogel’s Indecent at SF Playhouse, has given her the gift of connecting more deeply to her Jewish roots through the rich history of the Yiddish Theater. She owes everything to her parents, צו מיינע עלטערן: א הארציקן דאנק אייך (in Yiddish: “to my parents--a heartfelt thanks!”)
